WE ARE GOING ALL OUT THIS TIME
It was while we were on a holiday that we decided to have the mother of all holidays. Christine was helping my friend Patrick clean out his liquor cupboard during our visit to his place in Fiji. Patrick was telling us about his overland trip to New Zealand from Tanzania in a Unimog and the very next morning even before she got out of bed, Christine announced we would be doing a trip like Patrick did, and we would be doing it very soon...
So, we got home from the holiday and called the local realestate agent and put the house on the market, and the process of having the trip of many lifetimes started.
We travel a lot. Even though we wouldn't call ourselves travellers, we are always away from home...
We have been hiking all over New Zealand and Australia, we have walked the Appalachian Trail in the USA, traveled to Europe, lots of Asian destinations and the beautiful pacific islands. Most of it is in the little corner of our part of the globe.
I have always quoted "the trip is in the travel" so what better way to see the world than in the comfort of your own car!
We started this epic trip with a couple of quick tramping trips, (hiking to our friends in the US.) The 1000km Bibbulmun Trail in Western Australia, then we headed to the USA where we completed the Appalachian Trail. We had 900 kms to go to finish the entire 3522 kms.
Our next stop was the UK (via Iceland) to buy the trusty overland vehicle and then off to Europe and Africa.
We will travel to Southern Africa via the west coast then up to Tanzania and a ship to Eastern USA to explore the Americas. If we have budgeted well we will travel across Australia west to east.
Follow us as we travel.
